World’s richest tennis star wealthier than Woods, LeBron, Toto Wolff combined

The world's richest tennis star Jessica Pegula is determined to continue her rise to stardom despite sitting on a huge wealth which is bigger than those of Tiger Woods, LeBron James and Toto Wolff combined.

World No.3 Pegula is without a Grand Slam singles title to him name yet after reaching the Australian Open quarter-finals for the third time in January.

The world’s richest tennis player has a nett worth of a huge £5.5billion making any prize money on offer insignificant. Pegula's father is the owner of NFL side Buffalo Bills, NHL outfit Buffalo Sabres and other Buffalo-based sports outfits such as the Beauts and the Bandits.

Her family live a life of luxury and own £14million superyacht called 'Top Five II' and a stunning £2.5m gated mansion in Florida. Pegula's wealth is far greater then 15-time major golf champion Woods, who was the world's first professional athlete to earn over a billion dollars in his career and has a nett worth of £1.1b – according to business magazine Forbes.

Basketball star James is four-time NBA Champion and twice Olympic Games gold medallist – but his wealth is slightly lower at £1b. Mercedes principal Wolff owns a 33 per cent stake in the constructor and is also a billionaire with a worth of £1b.

Despite her huge nett worth Pegula is amongst the busiest tennis players on the circuit with the world No.3 already having competed in seven singles tournaments and six doubles competitions this year. Pegula has also had success in doubles tournaments and was French Open finalist alongside fellow American Coco Gauff.

"I think my goals and belief in what I can achieve – those definitely go up," Pegula said. "It seems like they’ve gone up a lot in the last couple of years. I’m giving myself opportunities and chances it feels like every week. That’s the goal – I think singles, or doubles, either one. I play both because I want to win.”

Pegula's wealth is set to grow further after attracting the sponsorship of Stella Artois during her run to the semi-finals of the Miami Open. The American now has her eyes set on Grand Slam success after having a standout year in 2022 and reaching a career-high world ranking of No.3.

Pegula added: “I think I’m getting to the point where my goals have switched to, now I’m going deep in Grand Slams, I want to win a Grand Slam. And the same thing for the 1000s (Masters tournaments) and all the bigger events. I want to do better, I want to start winning them.”
