Wimbledon star Jelena Ostapenko was involved in a fiery clash with Ajla Tomljanovic at the end of their third-round match, calling her the “worst player on the tour” after being accused of faking an injury.
The Latvian, who was looking to better her 2018 run to the semi-final, crashed out of the tournament to the Australian on Court 15.
Having won the first set 6-4, the 34th-ranked player in the world let her opponent come back to claim the next sets 6-4 6-2 for victory.
But Tomljanovic – who is ranked 40 places below the player she defeated – ended the match getting into a row with Ostapenko following an accusation of lying.
In the third and final set, the Australian was 4-0 up when when her opponent called for a time-out due to an abdominal problem.
Despite the physio being called for, the leader – who had been preparing to serve – was left fuming and argued it was being faked to disrupt her momentum.
Tomljanovic could be heard over the curtsied microphone telling the umpire: “You know she’s lying, right? Can we call the supervisor as well?”

“Are you taking into any consideration that she was fine for one hour and 30 minutes?”
After winning the game four days later, the pair came together at the net for the formal end-of-match handshake – but Ostapenko had some words for her opponent.
“If you think I am faking, you can talk to the physio,” the Latvian was heard saying.
But the 24-year-old, into the fourth round of Wimbledon for the first time in her career, replied by sarcastically saying: “I hope you feel better.”
And this left Ostapenko furious, calling her behaviour “terrible” before saying the Australian had “zero respect”.
After being urged to leave the court by the umpire, a separate video captured the 34th-ranked player calling Tomljanovic the “worst player on the tour” as she left.
The Latvian’s opponent till take on British wild-card teenager Emma Raducanu in the fourth round on Monday.

Tomljanovic has since responded to the incident by calling Osapenko "laughable" for her actions and dubbing it "disgraceful behaviour".
She added: "I haven’t asked her if she’s okay. I don’t think she probably even wants to talk to me. I wish her well.
"Like, if she had any sort of pain or injury, I hope she gets better. Doesn’t excuse the way she did it."
