Will Ferrell gets pushed around NBA arena by 50 Cent after football stadium tour
Actor Will Ferrell made the most of his time at an NBA game last night and entertained the crowd alongside rapper 50 Cent.
His appearance came several weeks after the LAFC co-owner turned up at some Premier League games, including Liverpool vs Everton and Leeds vs Manchester United. The 55-year-old is currently filming a road-trip style documentary and chose to make an appearance at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse last night as the Indian Pacers took on the Philadelphia 76ers. Once game time rolled around, Ferrell was tasked with hyping up the Indianapolis crowd, and he did not disappoint.
The new tradition, which commenced back in November, involves driving an Indy car onto the court and revving the engine. Ferrell hopped in the car and rolled his way onto the court with a little help from one of the most legendary rappers of all-time, 50 Cent, who pushed the car from the back. The actor and television producer runs a liquor company which is one of the official sponsors for the Pacers during the 2022-23 season.

The ‘Elf’ star was pleasantly surprised to see the Grammy Award winning musician, having no prior knowledge he would be in attendance. 50 Cent tapped Ferrell on the shoulder and the pair shook hands and embraced one another. The ‘In da Club’ singer posted a video of his interaction with Ferrell on Instagram and was full of praise for him in the caption. “Ran into one of my favourite actors Will Ferrell at the game,” he posted alongside the video which has garnered over 170,000 likes.
“Will Ferrell is here and he will be revving up the IndyCar and be quite active around this crowd here in Gainbridge Fieldhouse," one of the commentators said. In reference to Ferrell's driving, the other commentator joked: “Be careful! You don’t want to get run over by it!"
Once 50 Cent appeared, they added: “50 Cent is here as well, we have some high level celebrities tonight!”
Ferrell's busy night included taking some shots on the court before the game, chatting with Pacers coach Rick Carlisle and the players in the locker room and tried to get the crowd fired up between quarters.
The special guests, along with the thousands of avid basketball lovers, were also treated to a thriller between the two Eastern Conference teams, which resulted in the 76ers edging the Pacers in a high-scoring 147-143 contest.
Joel Embiid top scored with 42 points, while James Harden added 20 assists, 14 points and nine rebounds to lead their side to an important victory. The game marked the 11th time the 2022 scoring champion crossed the 40-point mark this season, while Harden became the first Sixer to have produced multiple 20-assist performances in a single season.
All-star guard Tyrese Haliburton gave the home fans plenty to cheer about as he registered 39 points along with 16 assists as his side just fell short. In a game where making defensive stops was a rare occurrence, victorious Sixers coach Doc Rivers was relieved they got the result they needed, while Harden was “just happy to come out with the win.”
“Some nights you’ve just got to win the game,” Rivers said. “Tonight was one of them. They’re a really good offensive team. We got caught in their tempo, and didn’t want to get out, you could tell. The problem is we couldn’t get stops.”
The 76ers are third in the Eastern Conference, four games behind the Milwaukee Bucks in top spot and two behind the Celtics in second. The Pacers are lying in 12th, currently two games off the final play-in spot.
