Text sent to missing Levi Davis ‘read’ two months after rugby star vanished
A text message sent to the phone of Levi Davis was marked as 'read' according to a close friend – despite him being missing for more than two months.
The 24-year-old former professional rugby player has not been seen since October 29 in Barcelona, with his phone last detected to be at the city's main train station.
With fears over the safety of Davis following reports that he was being blackmailed before his disappearance, a friend has offered an update.

A message sent on to Davis on December 15, as reported by The Sun, said: "Please come home. I love you. And miss you xx."
That message was indicated as 'read' in December, with Gavin Burrows' Line of Inquiry firm responding having offered a £10,000 reward for information on Davis.
Burrows said: "The Spanish police pinged his phone to Barcelona train station on the night he went missing on October 29th. Then you've got on December 15 somebody has read the text.
"It's either Levi himself – and we hope so – or it's someone who has managed to get a hold of his PIN."
In January it was confirmed by police that Davis' bank cards and mobile phone had both gone unused since he went missing, having also found his passport.
Levi, who bravely became the first rugby union player to come out as bisexual while still playing, posted a video on Instagram just days before his disappearance.
In that video, he said he was being blackmailed by criminals who had threatened to kill him and his family.
Davis began the clip by explaining: "My name is Levi Davis and my life is in danger. I beg that you listen and try to understand what I’m telling you."
He then added details of the blackmail and threats, stating that the blackmail had started after his appearance on the X-Factor in 2019.
