Snooker star dons oven glove in Shoot Out victory as he shares spectator taunt
Kyren Wilson stunned spectators as donned an oven glove to polish off his Snooker Shoot Out second-round victory over Mostafa Dorgham in a hilarious response to a heckler.
The 31-year-old steam-rolled Egypt’s Dorgham 71-14 after edging past Daniel Wells in the first round. Once Wilson knew the frame was sealed, he put a bright red oven glove on his bridge hand to send the packed-out Swansea Arena crowd into hysterics.
Even Dorgham saw the funny side of it as he giggled at the Englishman’s gag. Wilson has since booked his place in the last 16 with a 101-1 win over David Lilley.
In the immediate aftermath of his game against Drogam, he caught up with Eurosport to explain his unorthodox choice of mitten. “I just kept hearing someone shout ‘don’t forget the roast’. I’m cooking a roast apparently,” he laughed.
