Rory McIlroy's nightmare opening round at The Masters went from bad to worse after the Northern Irishman hit his own dad with a shot at the seventh-hole.
The PGA Tour no. 4 is seeking his first major win since 2014 but suffered a difficult afternoon at Augusta, carding 76 to leave him four over par and joint 64th.
McIlroy's chances of making up the gap to leader Justin Rose are now slim-to-none, while there's a real chance the 31-year-old could miss the cut altogether.
His opening round couldn't have gone much worse, although there was an amusing moment at the seventh when McIlroy managed hit his dad with an errant shot.
While Gerry McIlroy was walking towards the green to watch his son try and claw back a shot after two bogies in a row, Rory sliced an iron in his direction, shouting "Fore!"
McIlroy senior couldn't get out of the away fast enough, with the ball striking him on the calf.
Luckily for Rory, his father took it in good spirits, joking to reporters afterwards: "I should ask for an autographed glove."
His son joined in the fun at the conclusion of his round, adding: "I knew it was my Dad when I when I was aiming at him. Probably 30 seconds before I hit him.
Told of his dad's request for an autographed glove, McIlroy replied: "I don't know, he's seen me sign plenty of stuff over the years.
"I think that's the least of his worries, I think he just needs to go and put some ice on it.
"Maybe I'll autograph a bag of frozen peas for him."
