Piers Morgan celebrates "cheat" Novak Djokovic being thrown out of Australia
Piers Morgan has branded Novak Djokovic a 'cheat' and a 'liar' ahead of the Serb’s deportation from Australia.
The tennis star lost an appeal over his visa cancellation and now could be handed a three-year ban from the country, meaning he might not be able to feature in the Open until its tournament in 2025.
During the hearing on Saturday, Federal Court judges upheld Australia Immigration Minister Alex Hawke's decision to cancel Djokovic's visa, a move the politician claimed was done on “public interest grounds”.
And government lawyers have stated that they believe Djokovic’s presence in the country could see a rise in anti-vaccination sentiment.
Morgan wrote on Twitter on Sunday: “Covid rule cheat, immigration form liar, and anti-vaxxer icon Novak Djokovic loses final appeal against deportation and will be thrown out of Australia without being able to compete in Australian Open. Good."
Morgan had previously slammed the world number one after he admitted to adding misinformation onto his immigration forms and attending an interview despite testing positive for Covid.
Djokovic, who has won the past three Australian Open titles, said after the announcement of his deportation.
"I will now be taking some time to rest and to recuperate, before making any further comments beyond this.
"I am extremely disappointed with the ruling to dismiss my application for judicial review of the decision to cancel my visa, which means I cannot stay in Australia and participate in the Australian Open.

"I respect the court's ruling and I'll cooperate with the relevant authorities in relation to my departure from Australia.
"I am uncomfortable that the focus of the past weeks has been on me and I hope that we can all now focus on the game and tournament I love.
"I would like to wish the players, tournament officials, staff, volunteers, and fans all the best for the tournament.
"Finally, I would like to thank my family, friends, team, supporters, fans, and my fellow Serbians for your continued support. You have all been a great source of strength to me."
