Over a quarter of sporty Brits believe they could take a point of Wimbledon legend Serena Williams – with 5% even thinking they could beat the superstar.
Williams – who is regarded as the greatest tennis player of all time – has won 23 Grand Slams, including seven Wimbledon's, across her glistening career. But that hasn't stopped some overconfident Brits from thinking they could take a point.
According to a study by BonusCodeBets, 26% of respondents, who at least occasionally play sports, believed they could take a point of the American. And a further 4% – who admitted they don't play sports – think they could win a point.
However, it gets even worse with 5% of Brits believing they could beat the seven-time champion if they were to square off.

Londoners are the most confident – with 24% convinced they’d hit a winner against the US star. While Southampton and Edinburgh also strongly believe they'd dig deep and take a point off Williams, with 21% and 20% respectively.
And out of all the men that were quizzed as part of the survey, 7% of men who regularly play any sport believe they would rank inside the women’s top 10.

A spokesperson from BonusCodeBets said: “We’re all for having a bit of confidence in yourself, but the amount of Brits who think they’d beat – or even take a point off – Serena Williams and Andy Murray is shocking to see.
“I know Andy’s got a dodgy hip these days, but I think it’s going to take a fair bit more than that to let me return even one of his serves.”
