NFL fans left befuddled as Antonio Brown strips off and walks out of Bucs game
Tampa Bay Buccaneers receiver Antonio Brown removed his equipment and stormed off the pitch during crazy, unprecedented scenes during their clash with the New York Jets.
Brown abruptly took off his gear, threw his shirt and gloves into the stands and ran off the field during the third quarter with the Jets leading the Bucs 24-10 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
With both teams remained on the field during a break in play, the 33-year-old did jumping jacks in the end zone and waved to the home fans before running into the tunnel to the jeers of the Jets fans.
It is reported that teammates Mike Evans and O.J. Howard tried to calm the furious receiver down, but he continued to remove his equipment before leaving the pitch.
It wasn't immediately clear what prompted the scene.
The Bucs are yet to respond to the incident.
According to FOX Sports, stadium security initially thought Brown was a fan and were prepared to tackle him before they realised it was a fan.
