P.J. Washington scored 31 points, Gordon Hayward added 23 as the Charlotte Hornets once again spoiled Stephen Curry’s annual homecoming game with a 120-113 overtime win over the Golden State Warriors on Saturday night.
Kelly Oubre Jr. added 18 points as the Hornets beat the Warriors for the fourth straight year at the Spectrum Center in Curry’s hometown despite playing without their starting backcourt of LaMelo Ball and Terry Rozier.
Curry scored 31 points and had 11 rebounds to pace the Warriors, but missed a tightly contested 3-pointer at the end of regulation that would have won the game. He also air-balled a 3 in overtime and finished 3 of 13 from beyond the arc.

Jordan Poole had 24 points off the bench for the Warriors.
In the extra period, Jalen McDaniels knocked down a momentum-turning 3-pointer from the left wing and Dennis Smith Jr. scored on a drive to the hole to give the Hornets the lead for good at 116-111.
Curry made two free throws but Washington scored again inside, muscling a shot up and in to push the lead back to five. Washington had six points in the overtime period.
Smith finished with 13 points, nine rebounds and eight assists for Charlotte.
The Warriors have not beaten the Hornets in Charlotte since Feb. 25, 2019.
Charlotte led by 14 in the third quarter after holding Klay Thompson and Curry to 0-for-9 shooting from 3-point range. But Curry and Thompson knocked down 3s on back-to-back possessions to spark the Warriors, who briefly took the lead.

But the Hornets, playing on a second night of a back-to-back, would push the lead to six in the fourth quarter behind Washington and Oubre, who blew a kiss at the Warriors bench after sinking a big 3.
The Hornets had built 62-50 halftime lead behind 15 points each from Hayward and Washington and some terrific hustle from Mason Plumlee, who had nine rebounds and six assists before the break.
The Warriors were just 13 of 44 from 3-point range and were outrebounded 54-50.

Kings rookie Keegan Murray scored a career-best 22 points. ‘I think we played well,’ Murray said. ‘We expect to win games.’
With the Kings up four points, Huerter was fouled with 14.2 seconds left. He made both free throws to extend Sacramento’s lead to six and seal the win.
Rookie Bennedict Mathurin scored a career-high 32 points in Indiana Pacers’ 125-116 win
Elswhere, rookie Bennedict Mathurin scored a career-high 32 points as the visiting Indiana Pacers hit a team record 23 3-pointers and pulled away for a 125-116 victory over the struggling Brooklyn Nets in New York.
Playing on the second night of a back-to-back, the Pacers tied their previous team record for 3-pointers, 22 set twice in May 2021, when Chris Duarte connected from deep for a 111-101 advantage with 6:14 remaining.
Indiana hit its 23rd 3-pointer when Mathurin connected from the corner with 2:33 left to put Indiana ahead 121-109.
Mathurin made 8 of 16 shots and hit six 3-pointers off the bench as Indiana’s reserves totaled 47 points. Mathurin also became the first Pacer rookie to score at least 30 points as a reserve since Myles Turner on Jan. 22, 2016, at Golden State.

The Pacers shot 42.6 percent for the game and made half of their 46 3-point tries.
Tyrese Haliburton added 26 and tied a career high with six 3-pointers to go along with eight assists for Indiana, which broke a seven-game losing streak to Brooklyn. Isaiah Jackson collected 18 points and 10 rebounds, and Indiana outrebounded the Nets 53-34.
Buddy Hield nearly posted a triple-double by totaling 17 points, nine boards and eight assists as the Pacers handed out 31 assists.
Kyrie Irving led all scorers with 35 points for the Nets. Kevin Durant added 26 but missed 12 of 20 shots as the Nets lost their fourth straight. Royce O’Neale and Joe Harris contributed with 11 points apiece.
The Nets shot 50 percent from the floor but also allowed 17 offensive rebounds.
Joel Embiid scored 25 points to help the Philadelphia 76ers squeeze by Chicago Bulls 114-109
After taking a 63-62 lead into halftime, the Pacers held a 92-90 edge into the fourth before surging down the stretch.
Irving’s three-point play cut Indiana’s lead to 98-95 a little over two minutes into the fourth. The Pacers opened a 118-103 lead on two free throws by Mathurin with 4:18 left to ice the win before he hit the record-setting 3-pointer.
Meanwhile, Milwaukee Bucks responded after falling behind in the fourth quarter to beat the Atlanta Hawks 123-115 and remain unbeaten and Joel Embiid scored 25 points and made a tiebreaking 3-pointer to help the Philadelphia 76ers squeeze by the Chicago Bulls 114-109.
Finally, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 38 points as Oklahoma City erased an eight-point deficit in the final two minutes of regulation in a 117-111 overtime victory against the Dallas Mavericks, and the Utah Jazz beat the Memphis Grizzlies 124-123.
