The daughter of former MLB star Jose Canseco has launched a remarkable attack on nepo baby critics who say she lives off her father’s fortune. Jose Canseco was one of the stars of Major League Baseball in the late 1980s and throughout the 90s, establishing himself as one of the league’s best power hitters while turning out for the Oakland Athletics.
The six-time all-star outfielder and designated hitter was named the Rookie of the Year in 1986 before winning the Most Valuable Player award two years later.
Canseco reportedly earned £32.66million ($40m) during his 17-year MLB career, playing for teams including the Texas Rangers, Boston Red Sox, New York Yankees and Toronto Blue Jays as well as Oakland.
However, unfortunately for daughter Josie, Canseco’s earnings didn’t exactly set himself or his family up for life.
After going through a steroid scandal and two expensive divorces, the Cuban star was declared bankrupt in 2012.
However Josie Canseco – Jose’s daughter – is a Victoria’s Secret model who has a reported worth of $2 million.
The 26-year-old is clearly doing well for herself, but on Monday she launched an attack on her critics on her social media pages.

Like most children of celebrities, Josie has not been able to escape claims that she has lived off the wealth and fortune earned by her parents.
However, Josie wasn’t going to stand for that and soon put the record straight through a series of Instagram posts.
“Everyone claiming I came from all this rich money because I’m a ‘canseco’ do ur research,” she said.
“My ‘family money’ was blown by the time I was 6/7 w bankruptcy n I had to work my ass off to not only sustain my ‘family name’ but also pay my bills cause no one paid that s*** except me.”
Josie went on to say there were times in her life when she was in debt, barely making $100 a week, and living in tiny New York apartments packed with models.
“No child support, no payments, nothing,” she added. “And I lived in the model apartments, I was in debt for years and busted my a** getting $100-a-week max, when I started my mom who did her best.

“I’m tired of being categorised when it was very different. I’m beyond grateful because I certainly have been graced with the privilege of being born within a family that earned what they earned but respectfully, the expectation isn’t all what it seems.

“My family is broke and I don’t get the advance of a family that was rich. And realistically, sometimes it’s money that gets you in the door. Coming from someone who was in debt for at least 2/3 years, living in model apartments (3 models per room in a two bedroom New York apartment) I just would appreciate a bit of kindness because I really went through that s*** and busted my a** the traditional way. Sorry for the rant, I just got triggered tonight.”
After venting her anger, Josie says she had a panic attack and flew to be with her father.
In a video alongside Jose, she added: “Clearly had a panic attacking tonight and was able to fly to see my dad. I’m so grateful I even have one. I don’t care about the details, I’m appreciative to have someone there for me when I need it. I love you dad.”
