Meet Alica Schmidt – the ‘world’s sexiest athlete’ at World Athletic Champs
The ‘world’s sexiest athlete’ Alica Schmidt had all eyes on her during the World Athletics Championship as she starred in the 4x400m relay.
Schmidt, 24, was a part of the German side that won a silver medal in the 4×400 metres relay in the European Athletics U20 Championships in 2017 and won bronze in the U23 competition two years later.
The runner is fast becoming a household name in track and field after she helped her nation reach the final of the 4x400m mixed relay at the World Championships in Budapest earlier this week.
Schmidt has also made waves off the track, with the blonde bombshell’s good looks seeing her previously named the “Sexiest Athlete in the World” by Australian magazine ‘Busted Coverage’ and appearing on Forbes’ coveted ’30 under 30’ list

The stunning German, who has 4.3million followers on Instagram, also recently appeared at the Cannes Film Festival in a dazzling red dress.
Schmidt has already rejected advances from Playboy for a photoshoot, but revealed she snubbed the chance because she wants to inspire children as an athlete. She said: "I just want to be perceived as an athlete, I want to inspire young people and give them an insight into my beautiful sport.”

And she reaffirmed her sporting priorities in an interview with the Olympics, but also admitted her love for social media. Schmidt said: “It's good for all us athletes to be active on social media in order to get sponsors.
"It's not easy, especially in Germany to live from athletics. So a lot of athletes have to do another job to live from that and do the training. And yeah that's a great thing to do a social media on the side so you can get some more sponsors."
"The training is, of course, the main focus and all other things come behind that. But I also love to do some model jobs or take the people with me on social media. It's a big hobby of mine and I love to do that. But the main focus is sports."
Schmidt is also no stranger to the footballing world after she was appointed Borussia Dortmund’s fitness coach for the 2020/21 season – helping BVB finish 3rd in the Bundesliga and reach the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
2024 is another huge year for Schmidt as she looks to appear at the Paris Olympics where she will again be aiming to help Germany reach the 4x400m relay final and possibly land her first Olympic medal.
