Jurgen Klopp at Man Utd more likely than Andy Murray winning Wimbledon
There is more chance of Jurgen Klopp ditching Liverpool for Manchester United than there is of Andy Murray winning this year’s Wimbledon.
At least that’s according to one betting company, who aren’t confident the ageing Scot can secure his third SW19 title after picking up the famous trophy in 2013 and 2016. At the time of writing, Murray was involved in a Titanic second round match with fifth seed Stefanos Tsitsipas under the Centre Court roof.
But even if he comes through against the highly-rated Greek star, it would still be a major surprise if Murray, 36, goes all the way at the All England Club.
That is borne out by Betfair, who offered pre-match odds 60/1 for Murray to win Wimbledon 2023. That is longer odds than Klopp making what would be one of the most controversial defections in football history by taking the top job at Old Trafford.

That is just 50/1, the same as James Milner being the next Liverpool manager and Jose Mourinho replacing Pep Guardiola at Manchester City one day. Meanwhile, Boris Johnson returning as prime minister is 18/1.
Also on 60/1 with Murray is Wrexham co-owner Ryan Reynolds’ chances of being named Time magazine’s Person of the Year.
Thankfully, Murray himself has more confidence than the bookies. Speaking after his first round victory over Ryan Peniston, he said: “I’m playing well enough to beat most of the players, I think, in the draw. Physically, I feel good.

He added: “What has happened at a lot of the majors that I played in the last few years, I’ve had lots of pretty long matches early on in the tournament.
“I’ve had multiple long matches one after another. So any time you get the chance to finish a match quickly and can conserve some energy is a really positive thing. It’s not necessarily confidence that I gain from it, it just means that hopefully the deeper I go in the tournament the fresher I will be.”
