Five most brutal Kimbo Slice KOs six years after his death at just 42
Six years on from the tragic death of Kimbo Slice, the Daily Star looks back at five of his most brutal knockouts during his time as an infamous street brawler and MMA fighter.
'The King of the Web Brawlers' quickly rose to fame when videos of his street fights were posted to YouTube in the early 2000s and then turned pro as he turned his focus from boxing to MMA. But the 6ft 2in Bahamian-American died on Monday, June 6, 2016, after the 42-year-old was admitted to hospital with heart failure in Florida.
Slice, real name Kevin Ferguson, was renowned for his wild and entertaining fights. Here are five of his most hard-hitting wins.
Kimbo Slice vs Tank Abbott
In 2008, Kimbo Slice went up against UFC legend Tank Abbott in Elite XC. Slice, who was competing in just his second professional MMA fight, showed exactly why he would eventually become one of the most well-known names in fighting with a savage knockout.
The KO helped propel Slice's career with him having a short stint with UFC before moving to Bellator.
Kimbo Slice vs Dreads
This was one of Slice's infamous street fights that attracted more than 100,000 views in what was a grim clash, which saw Kimbo leave Dreads unconscious on the cold concrete. As they danced around during the fight, Slice managed to land plenty of digs before ending his opponent with an eye-watering uppercut.
Dreads was left bloodied and out of it as he lay on the floor, with the fight being one that helped Slice break into the professional scene.
Kimbo Slice vs James Thompson
This bout was tipped as one where Slice might fail to win as he came face-to-face with 'Colossus' James Thompson in the Octagon, however many were left surprised when the street fighter pulled an impressive win out of the bag as he burst Thompson's ear with a hard right-handed punch, before knocking the more experienced fighter out. Thompson struggled to stay on his feet, with the brave fighter wanting to carry on, despite him drifting in and out of consciousness.
The pair were preparing for a rematch for 2016, before Slice's shock death.

Kimbo Slice vs Adryan
This was another of Slice's more brutal and bloody knockouts as he took on another opponent in a street fight that went viral on YoutTube at the time. The fight saw Adryan come out swinging but Slice pinned him back before knocking him out as his opponent turned his back on the fighter.
Afterwards, his defeated foe was seen with blood all over his face and snoring on the grass of the garden they used as a makeshift ring while people tried to wake him up. The video, which has been reposted to the platform, has 131,000 views alone.
Kimbo Slice vs Tay Bledsoe
During this crazy contest in a back street boxing match, Kimbo Slice took less than two minutes to knock out opponent Tay Bledsoe, with his team screaming to keep moving moments before he is swiftly knocked out with one powerful punch. The knockout is arguably the best of his entire career.
The dad-of-five was admitted to a hospital near his home in Coral Springs on June 5, 2016. He died the next day of heart failure. An autopsy later revealed he also had a mass on his liver.
Speaking at the time of his death, Scott Coker, CEO of Bellator MMA, said: "We are all shocked and saddened by the devastating and untimely loss of Kimbo Slice, a beloved member of the Bellator family."
