Cage fighter slammed for snapping opponent’s arm without waiting for him to tap
An amateur MMA bout ended in grotesque fashion at Cage Titans 55 on Friday evening (August 26) with Kyle Pavao brutally snapping the left arm of his opponent Wayne Downer.
The fight went ahead in Plymouth, Massachusetts in the United States and was over before the third and final round after Pavao found a keylock and stood up with it.
The subsequent snap of Downer's arm rung out around the arena, with moans and groans coming from spectators as referee Steve Rita rushed in to help the defeated fighter.

Questioning whether the victor could've waited for a tap before breaking the arm of his opponent, one viewer wrote: "Very unprofessional in MMA. Didn’t even give chance to tap…"
With a second adding: "Great way to potentially end someone's career."
And a third writing: "He didn’t even attempt to hold that submission, just straight up went to savagery."
However, others have pointed out that it was actually the fallen fighter that rolled into the lock, saying that 18-year-old Pavao was not at fault for what is either a broken bone or dislocation.
Pavao said after the bout: "I wish him a full recovery, he was a real game opponent.
"I'm happy to be here, he showed up, I showed up, it's all part of the game, you know."
Commentators Richie Santiago and Andy Kurzontkowski reacted how you would expect to the finish of the fight, with the latter saying: "Oh, his arm just broke."
Adding: "Right in front of my eyes. Wow, wow, wow, wow. Technical submission. Arm is snapped. Oh my God. Oh my God. Kyle Pavao has devastating submission skills.
"This place is… this place is… I think every single person in this person is… woah. I haven’t seen that happen live before. That was one of the nastiest things I’ve seen."
