Bradley Wiggins unrecognisable as cyclist ‘morphs into a hottie’ on The Chase

Fans of cycling legend Sir Bradley Wiggins were left stunned after the star showed off a new look on the The Chase Celebrity Special.

The 2012 Tour de France winner endured a bit of a nightmare on the show, which aired on Boxing Day, as he wasn't able to name any of the chasers. He later admitted he'd never watched the ITV show in his life despite accepting an invite to be a celebrity guest on the programme.

At one point, host Bradley Walsh asked him which chaser he'd like to face, and the five time Olympic gold medal winner admitted: "I don't know their names. I know the guy with the cowboy thing," referring to Darragh 'The Menace' Ennis.

But viewers were left more engrossed by the 42-year-old's appearance, and the absence of the iconic sideburns which once signified the star. Instead, he sported a more refined look, with a beard and designer haircut.

"Jeez Bradley Wiggins has morphed into a hottie!!!!" wrote @DegsyScott. And @MRJKilcoyne joked: "Sorry lads, but Sir Bradley Wiggins looks nothing like Bradley Wiggins."

@mmtowns tweeted: "Most important thing that’s happened this Christmas is the Bradley Wiggins glow up," while @grifftannen likened him to a WWE star, quipping: "When did Bradley Wiggins turn into HHH?"

Wiggins did manage to rack up £4,000 in the cash-builder and made it to the final for a chance to win £14,000 alongside Paralympian Kadeena Cox and TV presenter Radzi Chinyanganya.

However, he and his team were caught by Jenny 'The Vixen' Ryan – though the show still allowed each of their guests to walk away with £1,000 for charity.

Wiggins' chose to donate to Mind, a mental health charity that offers advice to people with problems and lobbies government and local authorities to help them. It meant he was at least able to finish his tough night with a dose of goodwill.
