Australian Open security take down Djokovic signs as they are ’inappropriate’

A fan at the Rod Laver Arena has fumed at the event security after they removed a Novak Djokovic sign.

The man took to social media to explain that fans weren't allowed to show signs in support of the Serbian World No.1.

However, an image has appeared, showing the sign read: "#Novax Djokovic hostage of the communist state of Dan Andrews."

After having his sign removed the man uploaded a video to social media which featured a discussion with security.

And the security guard explained that the sign was inappropriate, while the man was insistent he hadn't broken any rules.

Djokovic jetted off to Australia to defend his Australian Open crown, but a monumental mix-up with visas has led to the Serbian star being refused entry into Australia.

As a result, Djokovic is currently at the Park Hotel in Melbourne, which has previously been labelled as a 'torture centre'.

Djokovic father said about his treatment: "Tonight they can throw him in a dungeon, tomorrow they can put him in chains.

"The truth is he is like water and water paves its own path. Novak is the Spartacus of the new world which won’t tolerate injustice, colonialism and hypocrisy."

The Australian Open is set to get underway at the arena on Monday, January 17.

Djokovic, meanwhile, is actively battling to avoid deportation from Australia.
