Former two-weight UFC champion Daniel Cormier could not resist the temptation to prove that he’s still got it when he attended the basketball match between Houston Rockets and Toronto Raptors on Friday night.

The 42-year-old stepped away from the Octagon after losing to Stipe Miocic in their trilogy bout in August 2020.

However, he remains heavily involved in the sport as an analyst and co-commentator, and he demonstrated on Friday that his wrestling skills haven’t diminished since he retired from the UFC.

As fans waited for the basketball action to get underway, Houston’s mascot, Clutch the Rocket Bear, began to taunt Cormier while his former walkout song, ‘Right Above It’ by Lil Wayne and Drake, played in the background.

Cormier saw the funny side and rose to his feet, before delivering a playful punch to the mascot’s stomach.

He then proceeded to pick up Clutch, and body slammed him to the floor, much to the delight of the fans in the arena.

Cormier continued to play to the crowd afterwards as he held up a banner with the message ‘MAKE NOISE’, which led to him receiving a huge reception.

Unfortunately for the home side, his actions were not enough to inspire them to victory.

Toronto managed to ease past their opponents 139-120 to extend their winning streak to eight matches.

Meanwhile, Houston have now won just one of their last nine games.
