UFC confirm Darren Till will headline Fight Night on April 10

UFC confirm Darren Till will headline Fight Night on April 10 in huge Marvin Vettori clash with winner likely to earn title shot against Israel Adesanya

  • Darren Till has not fought since losing to Robert Whittaker last July in Abu Dhabi
  • British star will take on Marvin Vettori as headline act of Fight Night on April 10
  • Event will be broadcast at sociable time for UK audiences to watch main card

Darren Till’s next fight has officially been confirmed as the April 10 headliner against Marvin Vettori.

The Liverpool fan favourite has not entered the octagon since losing on the scorecards against Robert Whittaker last July on Fight Island.

And he will be aiming to set up a title shot against Israel Adesanya with victory his Italian opponent, who is on a four fight winning streak.

It will be his first fight since losing a decision against Robert Whittaker (left) last year

Fortunately for UK fight fans, the event will be broadcast live at prime time on BT Sport rather than in the early hours in the morning, as is often the case.

Till is one of the most engaging characters in the UFC both inside and outside of the cage.

And he will know that a shot at the middleweight belt is a real possibility next if he has his hand raised on April 10. The champion is coming back down having seen his bid to become two-weight champion against Jan Blachowicz end in failure at UFC 259.

Adesanya’s coach Eugene Bareman recently said: ‘The problem with middleweight at the moment is Israel has gotten himself into a position where he’s cleaned it out a little bit.

‘So, there’s Robert Whittaker, who’s right there and who’s trudging his way back, who’s grinding his way back. But Darren Till is the front-runner there. Darren Till, and then hopefully Robert.’

But Till would be wise not to look too far ahead as Vettori, ranked No 5 in the division, particularly after his impressive decision win over Jack Hermansson back in December.

UFC FIGHT NIGHT®: TILL vs. VETTORI will take place Saturday, April 10. The main card will air live on BT Sport in the UK at 8 p.m. BST, with the late prelims starting at 6pm and early prelims from 5 p.m on UFC Fight Pass.
