Pimblett 'is NOT a top 15 guy' and 'I would flatline him'
Paddy Pimblett ‘is NOT a top 15 guy’ and the UFC ‘won’t match him up against me because I’d flatline him’, claims American lightweight Terrance McKinney
- Paddy Pimblett recently won his fourth fight out of four since joining the UFC
- He was awarded decision win over Jared Gordon but many believed he lost
- American rising star Terrance McKinney has been calling out Liverpool fighter
- He claims the UFC will not match him up with Pimblett in the near future
Paddy Pimblett does not have the talent to crack the UFC’s top 15 at lightweight, according to Terrance McKinney.
The American rising star, one year Pimblett’s senior at 28, claims the UFC would be afraid to match him up with ‘The Baddy’ as it could derail the buzz around a fighter the organisation are high on.
Pimblett recently won his fourth fight in the UFC to maintain a perfect record, although many fighters and fans felt Jared Gordon should have been given the nod from the judges.

McKinney has won three and lost one in the UFC and wants to take on Pimblett
McKinney was one of those and even tweeted: ‘I’m killing this guy next for Gordon’, along with the hashtag ‘robbery.’
‘I already know that [I won’t get Paddy Pimblett],’ McKinney told MMA Fighting. ‘That’s why we’ve got some good names to call out in Brazil. Lord willing, everything goes to plan, because it’s a fight, anything can happen, so we’re taking it very seriously.’
McKinney is taking on Ismael Bonfim at UFC 283 next year but had plenty to say about Pimblett and his last fight.
‘The Baddy’ has won four from four in the UFC and garnered plenty of attention
‘Drew would flatline him – I would flatline him,’ McKinney said. ‘Honestly. He doesn’t want to fight either of us. Drew puts him out.’
‘[Paddy] was doing a good job of defending the punches with his face,’ McKinney said. ‘I really admire [that]. He was trying to break Gordon’s fist on his face. That’s an extreme technique. I’ve got to practice it more.
‘That [damage] just adds up. You can only do that for so long.’
‘He is not at all [a top 15 guy],’ McKinney added. ‘That’s why I told you stay tuned to Brazil, UFC 283.’
Some fans and fighters believed Pimblett was fortunate to get a decision win over Gordon
McKinney is seen as a potential star of the future and has a record of 3-1 in the UFC, dropping a fight to Drew Dober.
Of his 17 career fights, not a single one have gone to a decision and he is dangerous both on the feet and the mat.
If he wins against Bonfim, a match-up with Pimblett would make a lot of sense to see which man is on a trajectory for the top 15.
