Nate Diaz has vowed to show Conor McGregor ‘how it’s done’ and beat Dustin Poirier as the UFC fan-favourite aimed a dig at his Irish rival on Twitter.
McGregor, 33, failed to avenge his Fight Island defeat to Poirier at UFC 264, with a freak injury causing the Notorious to lose his trilogy bout by doctor stoppage after a dominant first round from the American.
McGregor’s latest defeat – his third in four fights – leaves him staring into the abyss, while UFC chief Dana White has said he expects the former two-weight champion to be sidelined for at least 12 months with his injury.

Poirier, meanwhile, is expected to pursue a shot at Charles Oliveira’s lightweight title, having snubbed a fight for the vacant title in favour of a third fight with McGregor.
And now Diaz has made his views known on Twitter, aiming digs at both McGregor and Poirier.
On Monday, Diaz shared a video of McGregor labelling him a ‘tough b***ard’ while one of his entourage called him ‘the f***ing Terminator’ following their second bout in 2016. Diaz wrote ‘You should’ve already learned from this,’ in a now deleted tweet.

The Stocktorn-born fighter was also due to face Poirier in 2018, before a hip injury to the Diamond forced him out of the contest.
Diaz uploaded a video of Poirier post-surgery on the hip injury with the caption: ‘Don’t trip though, I’ll show you how to do it,’ in a clear jibe at McGregor.
The 36-year-old is not currently scheduled to fight, having recently lost to Britain’s Leon Edwards at UFC 263 in Arizona.

The welterweight contender dominated over the course of five rounds, only for Diaz to rock the Birmingham-based star in the dying seconds of the contest, before Edwards saw out a unanimous points victory.
Diaz’s two fights with McGregor in 2016 saw him become a household name among combat sports fans.
With the duo tied at one win apiece, a trilogy fight appears a possibility with McGregor in huge need of a win to get back on track.
