To label Conor McGregor as simply a UFC star would be doing him a disservice. The Irishman is a man who has transcended his sport, taken it to new heights, and then branched out to many different avenues.
After starting out as a plumber’s apprentice, The Notorious reached the very top of the MMA world and has now used his fame to create a brand away from the Octagon.
This week, it was reported that McGregor is set to sell his remaining stake in his whiskey brand Proper Twelve for £112m, more than doubling his net worth and taking his personal wealth to close to £200m.
But just how exactly has he earned his money outside of UFC? From fitness apps to clothing lines, Sportsmail takes a look…
Conor McGregor is notoriously flashy with his cash and has raked it in outside the octagon
Let’s start with perhaps his most famous brand, and the one that looks set to make him £112m when he sells his remaining stake to Mexican drinks company Becle.
Founded in 2018 alongside his manager Audie Attar under parent company Eire Born Spirits, the Irishman has been keen to promote it at every opportunity. From offering drinks out at weigh-ins to getting it plastered over the canvas in the octagon, he has done an incredible job at promoting the brand.
At launch, Becle – who are famous for Jose Cuervo whiskey, Kraken rum and Boodles gin – bought 20 per cent, before upping their stake to 49 per cent last year. And now it seems as though they’re going the whole hog… leaving McGregor and his manager counting their cash.

ENDORSEMENT DEALS
Like any good sports star, McGregor has made the most of a large amount of sponsorship and endorsement deals, posting videos and photos to his social media accounts at any opportunity.
The fact McGregor has close to 40million followers on Instagram means he is in demand when it comes to sponsored posts, and will demand a huge figure.
In the past, he has created an advert for Burger King’s new spicy crispy chicken sandwich, worn a HiSmile teeth whitening kit for an Instagram video and shown off personalised Beats by Dre headphones at a weigh-in.

CLOTHING LINE
The Irishman is, of course, well-known for his fashion sense too, often appearing in tailored suits at press conferences and ensuring he looks the part before playing it.
Therefore, it was perhaps inevitable that a clothing range would happen at some point, and it has in the form of August McGregor, created alongside the man who kits him out in his impressive outfits – David August Heil.
The McGregor-Heil partnership is perhaps most famous for the suit that the UFC star wore to the first stop on the McGregor-Mayweather press tour… a custom three-piece that, on closer inspection, read ‘f*** you’ over and over again.
Selling itself as ‘a lifestyle brand for guys who have an attitude of excellence about everything they do in life,’ August McGregor sell everything from underwear to full suits. But not the ‘f*** you’ one, it seems.

FITNESS APP
McGregor regularly posts workout videos to his social media channels, showing off the incredible physique that took him to the top of his sport. Therefore, it is perhaps unsurprising that he has delved into the world of fitness apps too.
McGregor FAST is supposedly how the Irishman sculpted his body and he is giving his fans the chance to look just like him… maybe. Split into green (endurance), orange (strength) and red (power and speed), McGregor has worked alongside Dr. Julian ‘Doc’ Dalby to create the app.
A subscription is $99, and you can also buy t-shirts and – from later this year – protein powder to supplement your workouts.

VEGAS RESIDENCY
Back in 2017 and 2018, arguably when McGregor was at the peak of his powers and Covid was non-existent, after-parties in Vegas were a big draw for the Irishman and his droves of fans.
In fact, he even had an exclusive two-year residency with Wynn Resorts, in which he was paid to host his post-fight parties inside their nightclub.
His first event was after his boxing fight (more to come on that later) with Floyd Mayweather, with tickets for women between $20-$30, and tickets for men from $45-75.

EMOJI APPS
Something else McGregor is famous for is one-liners, coming out with some crackers over the years at press conferences and in interviews. Remember ‘I’d like to take this chance to apologise… to absolutely nobody’? Or the time he ordered Floyd Mayweather to ‘Dance for me, boy’? Or perhaps ‘You’ll do nuttin’…’
Well, they’re all available on the MacTalk mobile phone app, in which you can get McGregor to say those famous quotes on demand.
Or perhaps you’d like a McGregor-themed emoji? Well, download the MacMoji app and that’s exactly what you’ll get. Is there anything they’ve not thought of?

MEDIA AND LIFESTYLE BRAND
And on the subject of McGregor-based content, MacLife is perhaps the one he promotes the most. Sold as a ‘media and lifestyle brand’, they have a website featuring all the latest news about the man himself, as well as wider UFC, sport, and health and fitness stories.
They regularly carry exclusive McGregor interviews (of course!) and have a huge social media following on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook, as well as over a million YouTube subscribers.

BOXING
His most famous foray away from the UFC came within a sporting context when he stepped outside the octagon and into the boxing ring for a fight with Floyd Mayweather.
After a worldwide promotional tour, the Irishman was beaten in the bout but still managed to rake in an incredible $85m (£61m) for one night of work. Decent if you can get it, I suppose.
Whether he ventures back into the ring for another bout – potentially with YouTube sensation Jake Paul if reports are to be believed – is yet to be seen… but be sure that there’s a fair few money-making scenes left up the expensive suited sleeve of McGregor.
