Darren Till reveals that he is ‘cool as f***’ with UFC president Dana White and Hunter Campbell and states that he has got some ‘s***’ to sort out after confirming his release from his UFC contract.
It looks as if Till is looking to take some time away – with the promotion allowing him to do so.
Despite the release, there is likely to be a path back to MMA’s biggest promotion for the Englishman.
On Tuesday (28 February), the automated Twitter account UFC Roster Watch tweeted: ‘Fighter removed: Darren Till,’ which led fans to believe that the Englishman was cut from the promotion.
Following his departure from the promotion, Till has since provided fans with clarity as to why he was cut from the UFC – claiming that he had asked the promotion to release him.
Former UFC welterweight title contender, Darren Till, revealed he asked to be released
Darren Till has endured a tough spell in the cage recently and has not won a fight since 2018
In his last fight, Till was beaten by fellow middleweight contender Dricus du Plessis
On Twitter, Till wrote: ‘What’s happening everyone, Me, Dana [White, UFC president] & Hunter [Campbell, UFC executive vice-president and CBO] are still cool as f**k.
‘I asked UFC [to] remove me just [to] sort some other s**t for the foreseeable [future]. They happily agreed to release me out of contract which I appreciate.
‘I’m not going anywhere, got big plans to execute & I’ll be back.’
Till has lost his last three fights, and five of his last six, to drop out of title contention – in what has been a tough few years for the Brit. He suffered a third-round submission in his last fight against Dricus Du Plessis at UFC 282.
His last win inside the octagon came in 2018 – when he defeated Kelvin Gastelum in his middleweight debut at UFC 244.
Till made his UFC debut in 2015 – but it wasn’t until his first-round TKO win against Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone that would put his name on the map.
Following his win against ‘Cowboy’, the Liverpudlian would fight Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson on home soil – with Till going on to win via decision.
The win over ‘Wonderboy’ would earn him a crack at the UFC welterweight title against the champion Tyron Woodley back in 2018 at UFC 228.

Woodley would go on to submit Till in the second round to retain his title. the loss would be the Englishman’s first in his professional career.
Since then, Till has struggled to reach the top of the pile. He would suffer a knockout defeat to Jorge Masvidal in London – before moving up to middleweight in 2018.
Following his win against Gastelum, Till would go on to lose his next three against Robert Whittaker Derek Brunson and Du Plessis – which would be his last fight.
Till’s injury record has affected his ability to compete regularly over the years.
In his last fight against Du Plessis, the Englishman told UFC announcer Bruce Buffer that he tore his ACL.
After UFC 282, Till revealed that he is not done with fighting but will be taking a break from the UFC, saying: “I’m not retired, this is not a retirement speech. I’m 29, that would be stupid to decide.

“I’m on a bit of a losing skid at the moment, I really am. I ain’t finding my right way at the moment, and it’s crazy because when I’m in the gym sparring with the best guys in the world, I really am in my element, and then I step in the Octagon, and I just can seem to put things together.
“Now, I don’t know what to do properly, but I think I’m going to have a little time off from the UFC, I don’t know, and just rethink stuff.
Following the recent news, it now looks as if Till will take some time away from the UFC – but the door remains open for a potential return in the future.
