Conor McGregor reveals BIZARRE technique to visualise injuries away

‘Close your eyes, feel where the pain is… and then just f***ing get rid of it’: Conor McGregor reveals BIZARRE technique to visualise injuries away during coaching session on The Ultimate Fighter

  • McGregor recommended ‘feeling himself grabbing the pain and throwing it out’

Conor McGregor has given an insight into his unusual pain management strategy, which involves pretending to throw the problem out of the body.

While filmed giving advice to one of his team members on the latest series of The Ultimate Fighter, McGregor shared his insight.

He spoke passionately about a technique he uses to remove pain in his mind.

In addressing Aaron McKenzie during a training session, he said: ‘Tell yourself, it ain’t nothing. If you feel pain, guess what you can do?

‘Put your hand on, there’s the pain. The pain is there. Close your eyes, feel where the pain is. Put your hand right on the pain. Feel it.

Conor McGregor shared his advice about how to imagine pain away while coaching

‘Feel yourself grabbing it out of there and it literally going there. It’s no longer there. Really, really feel it. And then just f***ing get rid of it.

‘And that can happen anywhere in the body, anywhere. And that can happen any time in the day, maybe there’s a little bit left, and do it again.

‘Really feel yourself taking the pain, wherever it is and condensing it into a fist into a little pebble and then f**k the pebble into the ocean. There’s plenty more fish in the sea.’

Ultimately, McKenzie lost his fight on the show to Austin Hubbard by unanimous decision.

McGregor’s team are now 0-3 in the first three episodes against the group led by Michael Chandler.

The Irishman is no stranger to pain management having dealt with the broken leg suffered against Dustin Poirier in his last outing.

The long road to recovery has been arduous for McGregor and his comeback against Chandler highly anticipated.

It was thought the pair would lock horns later this year but Dana White’s latest comment cast doubt on that timeline, or even whether the bout would take place at all.

McGregor mimicked crushing the imaginary pain into his fist like it was a pebble

He said: ‘First of all, Conor called me a couple days ago and loved the first episode of, and saying how happy he was to be a part of it. And I think being here and part of the environment and everything else, he felt it again and felt like he wants to get back and fight.

‘The one thing you guys have to understand is this kid has so much money. It’s like Khabib [Nurmagomedov] now. These guys got s***-loads of money and it’s hard to reel these guys back in and get them fired up to get in and fight.

‘I never get concerned,’ White said. ‘We have a massive roster of people that want to come in and people that are ready to fight and people that want to be Conor McGregor, and be at that level.

‘For the last 20 years everybody said, ‘Oh my God, what are you guys going to do when Chuck Liddell or Anderson Silva retires? You guys are f*****. Oh my God. GSP.

‘This and that. This is a professional sport. People come in here, they achieve great things, and they retire. You can never worry about that type of stuff. It is what it is. It’s part of the game. It’s my job and my team’s job to find new talent and build them and take them to that level.’

McGregor recently came under fire for sending the Miami Heat mascot to hospital after punching it during a break in the game against Denver Nuggets

McGregor recently came under fire for hospitalising the Miami Heat mascot with a punch while entertaining the crowd before a game.

McGregor punched the Miami Heat’s mascot, Burnie, in the snout in what appeared to be a bit – with the costumed creature wearing gold boxing gloves.

The fighter sent him to the ground with a punch that left Burnie motionless – but McGregor took things a step further and hit the mascot again.

This second punch sent the mascot kicking his feet and rolling in agony as his handlers checked in on him and McGregor winced in self-awareness of his actions.

That sent the man inside the costume to the hospital, but according to Miami head coach Erik Spoelstra, the worker will be able to return soon.
