Former All-Star pitcher Jake Odorizzi agrees to a two-year deal with Houston Astros
Right-handed pitcher Jake Odorizzi, a 2019 All-Star, has agreed to a two-year contract with the Houston Astros, USA TODAY Sports' Bob Nightengale has confirmed.
The person spoke on the condition of anonymity because the deal has not been finalized.
ESPN was the first to report the deal. Terms have not been disclosed.
The deal comes with a player option for the 30-year-old who missed most of 2020 due to injuries — appearing in four games.

Odorizzi spent the last three seasons with the Minnesota Twins posting a career-best 15-7 with a 3.51 ERA and 178 strikeouts in 2019.
Odoriizi's deal comes days after it was announced that Astros pitcher Framber Valdez could miss significant time with a broken finger.
The Astros finished 2020 13th in team ERA at 4.31, but are still without ace Justin Verlander for most of 2021 following his Tommy John elbow surgery in September.
