Worcester racecourse no longer visible and submerged by water from Storm Babet
There will be no racing at Worcester racecourse this week, with the track completely submerged in water from Storm Babet.
High speed winds are currently battering the UK, and sports have taken a hit with cancellations across a number of different disciplines. The meet on Wednesday is one of these effected, and Worcester Racecourse tweeted: "Worcester Racecourse has suffered from #StormBabet.
"And racing on Wednesday 25th October has been abandoned!" An attached showed the track completely submerged, with not even the fences visible.

"Game has gone. Good-to-soft, soft in places at worse," one fan joked. While a second shared: "Disappointing from Worcester not giving the meeting every chance to go ahead…"
"Bit premature, if we all took buckets, I’m sure we will get it sorted in time," a third joked. And another added: "Bloody hell that's gonna take a while to dry out!"

Worcester isn't the only victim and Southwell's card on Monday has been cancelled due to part of the River Greet flooding the track. While racing went ahead at Newton Abbot on a very heavy track following an inspection on Saturday morning.
They added: "We will have to wait until the water levels drop again to ascertain the full extent of any damage to the track and other facilities, and will offer a further update in due course.
"Customers with tickets for Wednesday be contacted shortly with more information."
