Check out their best and value bets:

ROYAL RANDWICK

RAY THOMAS (Daily Telegraph) Form: 2×334

MORE PROPHETS (Race 5, No.8 – $5)

More Prophets was held up at a vital stage in the straight, had to switch off heels to get to the outside before finishing strongly when sixth first-up behind Starla at Randwick two weeks ago. When she finally found clear galloping room the race was over and she did well to finish within 1½ lengths. More Prophets goes out to her optimum distance over 1400m, she’s drawn well, should settle in the front half of the field and be ready to strike from the turn.

Value bet: California Longbow (Race 4, No.10 – $21)

MATT JONES (Daily Telegraph) Form: x1861

FOUR MOVES AHEAD (Race 6 No.1 – $2)

She’s a filly with a terrific turn of foot and has trialled up to indicate she’s going to come back even better as a three-year-old after an interrupted autumn which meant we weren’t able to see her true potential.

Value bet: VILLAMI (Race 9, No.10 – $19)

CLINTON PAYNE (Racenet) Form: 38336

SPLINTEX (Race 7, No.1 – $6)

Judging by his trial he’s come back in great order from a short break after a couple of runs in Brisbane during the winter. He’s unbeaten over 1200m at Randwick and the four-year-olds Prime Star and Private Eye are still to be proven at this stronger level in open company and look to be false favourites.

Value bet: THINK IT OVER (Race 8 No.2 – $8.50)

JETT HATTON (Racenet) Form: 14×34

BATTLEGROUND (Race 1, No.17 – $3.10)

This bloke went straight in the black book after his first-up run for Matt Dale, resuming after close to a year off the scene with no public trials. He hit the front and looked the winner in a strong race, but was overhauled by the handy Sixgun late when beaten a half-head. Battleground will take plenty of benefit for having the run and while he’s got the big weight to contend with, he’s better than Highway grade and the services of James McDonald is a big positive.

Value JAMAEA (Race 6, No.3 – $11)

THE VALLEY

BRAD WATERS (Racenet) Form: x6551

MALICORNE (Race 2, No.1 – $4)

Smart mare that didn’t come up in her only Adelaide run. She trialled well at Cranbourne and has the class to handle her rivals first-up.

Value bet: SCARLET TUFTY (Race 4, No.1 – $19)

GILBERT GARDINER (Herald Sun) Form: 93×58

CORNER POCKET (Race 3, No.3 – $2.50)

Back from a short freshen up and chasing seven-straight wins including four on the bounce last preparation. Track and distance winner who makes own luck on the speed.

Value bet: DAILY BUGLE (Race 6 No.2 – $14)

CHRIS VERNUCCIO (Racing News Editor) Form: 28551

CORNER POCKET (Race 3, No.3 – $2.50)

Going for seven wins in a row and Lindsey Smith has placed him perfectly again. Unbeaten at 1200m and has also won at the track.

Value bet: PINYIN (Race 2, No.2 — $7)

GLENN McFARLANE (Herald Sun) Form: 33114

CORNER POCKET (Race 3, No.3 – $2.50)

Has built a powerful record of six successive wins and looks well placed to make it seven when he resumes off a two-month break.

Value bet: MISS ALBANIA (Race 5, No.12 – $4)

SIMON MOY (NewsRacing) Form: 74114

CORNER POCKET (Race 3, No.3 – $2.50)

Returns from eight-week lay-up. Won six in a row and don’t expect that to end here with perfect draw.

Value bet: RED SANTA (Race 5, No.12 – $5)

NICK QUINN (TAB) Form: 73224

EAGLE FARM

TRENTON AKERS (Courier Mail) Form: 8×123

CHAMPAGNE AUNTY (Race 1, No.5 – $1.60)

Steve Tregea’s stable is churning out winners for fun and this mare is another one who is in red-hot form. On the quick back up but that shouldn’t worry her in this small field where she should dictate from the front and hold the fence.

Value bet: MISCHIEF MANAGED (Race 8, No.8 – $5)

NATHAN EXELBY (Sky Racing) Form: 8×111

WHOZYADEELER (Race 5, No.9 – $2.20)

Won his first two starts by big spaces before failing when stepped out to a mile and then spelled. Recent trial suggests he’s come back just as well and this looks a soft starting point for him.

Value bet: PIZONIE (Race 9, No.1 – $7.50)
