Taree and Albury: Best Bets and Inside Mail for Tuesday

Seven races at Taree with plenty of interest on a good surface while down at Albury we’re dealing with a heavy track however there’s a bit of value to be had at both venues if we can sort them out.

TAREE

BEST BET

Race 4 No. 11: Zetarita

First foal of the Group 3 winner Onemorezeta also trained by Kris Lees. Shown enough in her trial and drawn one for the debut.

NEXT BEST

Race 7 No. 10: Inferno Miss

Only won once in 13 starts but was runner-up four times and put the writing on the wall with that excellent first-up.

VALUE

Race 6 No. 4: Wanzdel

Raced at this track/distance twice for a big win a big second! Performs fresh, all round nice horse.

QUADDIE

Race 4: 11

Race 5: 4,5,6

Race 6: 1,4

Race 7: 7,8,10

JOCKEY TO FOLLOW

Dylan Gibbons has some choice rides today, none of them better than Zetarita.

ALBURY

BEST BET

Race 2 No. 7: Kelvedon Road

In a maiden today but he probably should have won two of his three starts. Just needs luck and a good ride and his talent does the rest.

NEXT BEST

Race 3 No. 4: Moon Warrior

Makes her debut at home off a nice trial and has the services of Jess Taylor. Market watch advised.

VALUE

Race 5 No. 7: Mathrin

Michael Travers has the training and riding duties as was the case when the mare bolted in at Wagga.

INSIDE MAIL – TAREE

RACE 4

Zetarita is by Capitalist out of Kris Lees’ Group 3 VRC Gucci Stakes winner Onemorezeta. This filly is her first foal and was retained by Bob and Sue Hannon who would, like all of us, been pleased with her trials and thrilled with her barrier. Antarctic Pride trials like a city grade horse but she hasn’t yet been able to produce it on race day. That said, this is a new prep and once again she has trialled brilliantly. Kiss And Shout is another of the ‘market watches’.

Bet: Zetarita win

RACE 5

Fluttershy was a 21 start maiden going into that 1750m race at Muswellbrook on July 31 which she duly won in quite barnstorming fashion. It’s easy to say in hindsight, but she was probably building up to that win and this looks the next logical step for her. Desmos is consistent without winning but keep in mind this is only a Class 1 and Maiden so she is well placed in that regard. Endorphins has always looked like she has wanted ‘ground’.

Bet: Fluttershy win, box trifecta 4,5,6,7

RACE 6

Wandzel is quite a handy horse. The Jenny Graham trained son of Wandjina has raced five times, four of those starts are here at Taree – a huge win, a huge second and a huge third. The key to him is not talent, it’s tempo, luck and a well-timed ride. Chase My Crown has good races in her. She is without question good enough to run right over the top of them, more so with 54 but does she give away too much start? Time will tell. Good mare though.

Bet: Wandzel win, quinella 1,4, exacta 4 to beat 1

RACE 7

Inferno Miss took 12 starts before she won a race but she has finished second four times. Indeed, you would be something of a hard-marker to find much fault with pretty much any of her runs. This great grand-daughter of QTC Derby/Oaks winner had ‘next time’ written all over her at Tamworth. Can she ward off the Wyong assault though from Kim Waugh’s last start winner Turning and Kristen Buchanan’’s flashy Eyewitness? Just makes for another good race on the card today.

Bet: Inferno Miss win, box trifecta 7,8,10,14

INSIDE MAIL – ALBURY

RACE 4

Yeldarb is a seven-year-old chestnut gelding by Nicconi – exactly the same as Nature Strip only Yeldarb isn’t a champion but this isn’t the Everest either. It is in fact a very, very achievable mission for Dan McCarthy’s horse whose record at this same track/distance is two starts for a win and a second. Nevada Dane is trained here and also excels at this distance. Can really launch himself too sometimes. Galaxy Force and Seventh Seal are major contenders.

Bet: Yeldarb win

RACE 5

Michael Travers was equal with Jamie Kah on the Nationwide Jockeys ladder and as much as we all love Jamie Kah, she doesn’t train ‘em like M. Travers! All (bad) jokes aside, Travers rode Mathrin when she bolted in at Wagga on August 8 at what was her first run for him as a trainer. Tap ‘N’ Run drifted like a hurricane first-up and ran accordingly. Has to be better than that run surely. Mojo Music couldn’t have been any more impressive winning on debut.

Bet: Mathrin win, quinella 1,7, exacta 7 to beat 1

RACE 6

Jess Taylor heads down to Albury today essentially at the invitation of the leading, local trainer Donna Scott. The two racing ladies combine here with ex-Mike Moroney trained Tavistock mare Opoho Dreaming who put the writing on the wall for a win today with her second at Narrandera at her first Scott planned venture. Mitch Beer’s grey Snowbella is the top rated horse in the race and has drawn to run well. Boho Chick is well and truly in the mix.

Bet: Opoho Dreaming

RACE 7

Not sure how this race will look come post-time but here’s hoping Pay The Deeler is there to take her place for the prolific winning Phil Sweeney from Ned Kelly’s Riverina stop-over, Jerilderie. Pay The Deeler has only won once in 19 starts but this is a Class 1 and she is coming off one of her five ‘seconds’. Red Arion landed some canny wagers when he was backed from $13 into $9 and won at Gundagai on August 2. Good yard, good jockey, bad barrier but good chance. Beau Belle can finish like Bernborough at times but not others.

Bet: Pay The Deeler win, quinella 2,9
