Databank
JOCKEY TO FOLLOW
CHARLIE DEUTSCH (six wins from 26 rides) has big chances on KYNTARA (Aintree, 12.20), PINK LEGEND (Aintree, 12.55), BRAVE SEASCA (Aintree, 1.30) and LOUNGE LIZARD (Aintree, 2.05)
TRAINER TO FOLLOW
NIGEL TWISTON-DAVIES (six winners from 20 runners) will be hoping for big things from NORMAN FLETCHER (Aintree, 11.10), ZAMBELLA (Aintree, 12.55), UNDERSUPERVISION (Aintree, 2.05) and CHANCE A TUNE (Aintree, 3.15)
BIG DAY FOR
Joe Tizzard, who will find out if he has a real stable star when JPR ONE (Sandown, 1.50) runs in the Henry VIII Novices’ Chase. The gelding was in control when unseating Brendan Powell at the last in a Grade Two last month.
WHAT’S IN A NAME
DR KANANGA (Chepstow, 1.37)
He was the villain in the 1973 James Bond film Live And Let Die.
WATCH OUT FOR
WILLMOUNT (Sandown, 11.50)
Cost £340,000 but it’s so far so good with three wins from three runs under rules. As short as 10-1 for the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle.
HORSES FOR COURSES
BEAUPORT (Sandown, 3.35) has run three times at the track — all over hurdles — and returned with a win and two second places. This is his first chase run at the course.
TRAINER TARGET
Paul Nicholls has won the Boylesports Juvenile Hurdle three times in the last six years. He runs LIARI (Aintree, 2.40).
PERFECT PARTNERS
Billy Loughnane has three winners from three rides for Charlie Appleby and is on board DUKE’S COMMAND(Wolverhampton, 5.00) for him.
BEST RACE FOR FAVOURITES
Six favourites have won the 2.12 at Chepstow and the 1.15 at Sandown in the past 10 years.

Robin Goodfellow Best Bets – by Steve Ryder
ICEO (nap) failed to concede more than a stone of weight to JPR One when the pair met at Newton Abbot in October but he is expected to reverse that form off level weights in the Henry VIII Novices’ Chase at Sandown (1.50). The gelding trained by Paul Nicholls won the Imperial Cup at this course last season on heavy ground, so he is proven in these conditions and can provide Lorcan Williams with the first Grade One win of his career.
At Aintree (1.30), BRAVE SEASCA (nb) has strong claims to record back-to-back victories in this race. Successful off a mark of 146 last season by an eased down one-and-three-quarter lengths, he returns off a 1lb lower mark this year and should come on for his reappearance run in the Haldon Gold Cup, in which he was sent off joint favourite.
Brave Seasca has strong claims to record back-to-back victories at Aintree at the weekend
The Wizard of Odds – by Chris Baker
1.37 Chepstow
TWO FOR GOLD is a sound jumper and ended last season with a victory at Ascot. He finished second on his recent reappearance and can go one better today. 13-5
1.50 Sandown
ICEO (nap) can easily be forgiven his odds-on defeat when conceding weight at Newton Abbot last time. Prior to that, this Paul Nicholls-trained five-year-old had made an impressive chasing debut. 23-5
2.25 Sandown
IMPOSE TOI could be hard to beat but TOO FRIENDLY has a good each way chance at big odds. His second-place finish behind Rubaud in October represents strong form. 28-1
