Raceday focus: Best bets, analysis for Swan Hill on Friday

Herald Sun form analyst Brad Waters runs the rule over Friday’s card at Swan Hill.

BEST BET

FUNDRAISER (Race 5 No. 2 – $4.80)

Fundraiser is as honest as they come and should resume a winner at Swan Hill. He was a comfortable winner over 1200m second-up last time in but can repeat that result first-up this time in.

NEXT BEST

BOOM SPIRIT (Race 1 No.3 – $2.50)

Boom Spirit gets his chance to break through for a win in the first at Swan Hill. His last couple of runs have been excellent and the winkers just might be the thing to get him over the line.

SPANISH SNITZEL (Race 6 No.5 – $3.20)

The locally-trained Spanish Snitzel heads to his hometown carnival in great form with a strong win at Bendigo last time out. The cut in the ground won’t worry him and he can win again on Friday.

ALL TOO ROYAL (Race 7 No.3 – $4.20)

All Too Royal has a terrific first-up record and loves the 1200m. He jumped out well at Caulfield leading up to his racetrack return and hopefully he runs in the Gold Topaz instead of Sandown.

VALUE BET

BRAEKHUS (Race 8 No. 9 – $21)

The Austy Coffey-trained Braekhus could end the day with a big result for the locals in the last at Swan Hill. She was an impressive maiden winner before her break and she’s an each-way chance at odds.

THE JOCKEY

Harry Coffey knows the Swan Hill track as well as, if not better than, any other rider out there. He has a book of seven rides on Friday. BOGA DREAMS (Race 1 No. 2 – $9), CLAY BIRD (Race 2 No. 2 – $5.50), PRAVRO (Race 3 No. 3 – $10), CARDIGAN QUEEN (Race 4 No. 6 – $4.60), QUEEN GUINEVERE (Race 5 No. 7 – $12), DEXELATION (Race 7 No. 6 – $9), BRAEKHUS (Race 8 No. 9 – $21) or TYCOON RONNIE (Race 8 No. 15 – $19).

THE WEEK AHEAD

The Sandown Hillside track will be the scene of next Saturday’s Melbourne meeting while Swan Hill races again on Saturday and Sunday. Edenhope also races on Sunday. Racing heads to Mornington on Monday for the Queen’s Birthday public holiday meeting before returning to the Ballarat Synthetic track on Tuesday.
