3YO HANDICAP (1100M)

Caulfield. R2, 12.25pm

Sometimes the more they win, then the better the price and that looks the case with Zipping Boy.

He’s a $10 chance to claim a fourth-straight win.

He has early speed and rails well, and should be suited by the Caulfield conditions.

Zipping Boy should also appreciate the 3kg weight relief from apprentice Alana Kelly.

Deep Speed is the $2.60 favourite. He has the class factor and will take beating if he can recapture his early-career form.

There has been money for All of Brighton and Sacred Palace.

All of Brighton has been backed from $6 into $4.40 as he steps back up to 1100m, where he has two wins and two placings from four starts.

Sacred Palace has been $13 into $7 as he rises in grade following a narrow Bendigo win last start.

THE TIP: ZIPPING BOY each-way.

SIR JOHN MONASH STAKES (1100M)

Caulfield, R8, 4.10pm

Malkovich lumped 61kg to a dominant Caulfield win last start in his first Victorian run.

He showed good early speed and jockey Damian Lane was happy to sit three-wide before he put the race to bed in the blink of an eye.

Jamie Kah takes the ride on Saturday.

From gate 10, Malkovich should either lead or sit just off the speed,

Malkovich opened a $2.90 favourite and was pushed out to $3.10 before getting backed into $2.80.

There's also been early money for Villami, who was $4.20 into $3.80 before easing back out to $4.

Villami has an excellent first-up record with three wins from four attempts and has trialled impressively ahead of his first run in 2021.

Viridine is another firmer, backed from $7 into $6. He ran second to Jungle Edge in this race last year.

THE TIP: MALKOVICH the win.

BENCHMARK 84 HANDICAP (1400M)

Caulfield, R9, 4.42pm

An open event to end the day at Caulfield but it looks a nice opportunity for the talented Jumbo Ozaki to win his first race since April last year.

His first-up fifth at Caulfield, after a 12-month lay-off, behind rising star Corner Pocket was full of merit considering he was hunted up prior to the turn.

He has a good second-up record with two wins and a second from three attempts.

He has each-way appeal at $8 from gate two.

Grinzinger Allee won well at Sandown last start and heads the market at $3.40 after opening at $3.10.

He’s a winning chance but looks way under the odds as I have assessed him as a $4.60 chance.

First emergency Scantoon has been the best-backed runner from $7 into $4.80.

This is a rise in grade following back-to-back midweek wins at Sandown.

THE TIP: JUMBO OZAKI each-way.
