Prince Fawaz joins Oaklands Stud roster for 2021

Group 1 winner Prince Fawaz will join the stallion roster at Oaklands Stud from the upcoming season.

The classy son of Fastnet Rock was unveiled as part of the Queensland operation’s team on Monday and will stand for $11,000 including GST at his first season at stud.

A $220,000 yearling purchase, Prince Fawaz was retired midway through the Sydney Autumn Carnival after battling injuries.

The Anthony Cummings-trained stallion prospect reached his career peak two years ago when he saluted in the Group 1 JJ Atkins Stakes at Eagle Farm.

He went close to securing a second Group 1 at three after finishing half a length off Castelvecchio in second in the Rosehill Guineas in March last year.

Prince Fawaz joins former Godolphin stallion Exosphere and UK import Power at Oaklands.

“We are very excited and humbled to have the opportunity to partner with the owners to stand Prince Fawaz, a son of Fastnet Rock, at Oaklands Stud in Queensland,” Oaklands Stud principal Neville Stewart.

”He is an outstanding individual with an outstanding stallion’s pedigree.”

Prince Fawaz finished his career with a record of 2 wins and two placings from 13 starts with both of those victories coming during his two-year-old season.

Cummings labelled his former star ‘the most exciting’ two-year-old he has ever trained.
