Mornington trainer Kane Harris faces three charges relating to Moe positive swab
Mornington trainer Kane Harris will face three charges relating to positive urine sample taken from a winner at Moe last spring.
Monsters Inc was found to have traces of Salbutamol – a medication that opens the airways in the lungs – in his system after a win at Moe on October 16 last year.
Analysts from both Racing Analytical Services Limited and the Australian Racing Forensic Laboratory found the substance in urine samples taken from the horse.
Racing Victoria stewards charged Harris with administering or causing the administration of a prohibited substance before or after running in a race.
Harris was also charged with the lesser offence of presenting a horse to race with a prohibited substance in its system.
He will also face a charge of failing to keep correct horse treatment records.
The trainer will appear at a Victorian Racing Tribunal hearing on a date to be fixed.
