Four Moves Ahead to run in Sires’ Produce Stakes
Four Moves Ahead, the first filly home in the Golden Slipper, is being set for the Sires’ Produce Stakes with trainer John Sargent expecting the well-bred youngster to relish the seven furlong test.
Sargent has opted to keep his daughter of Snitzel in training after her fourth placing h in the Slipper last weekend at Rosehill.
The Randwick trainer had the option of running Four Moves Ahead in the Group 2 Percy Sykes Stakes (1200m) for fillies where she is currently an equal $6 favourite with TAB.com.au.
But the stable will instead give the filly another chance at claiming a two-year-old Group 1 in the Sires’ on April 10 at Randwick.
“We will head to the Sires with Tim Clark to ride,” Sargent said.
“It was a month between runs heading into the Slipper and she didn’t enjoy the gluey track at Randwick but the winner won really well anyway.
“She should improve two weeks between runs and is bred to get the mile so the 1400m shouldn’t be a problem.”
Four Moves Ahead is a $15 elect with TAB.com.au for the Sires’ and is the only filly from the Slipper field that will continue deeper into the autumn.
Gerald Ryan and Sterling Alexiou confirmed to Racing NSW stewards earlier this week that Mallory had been sent to the paddock while Glistening and Swift Witness are also spelling.
