Daughter of Black Caviar breaks maiden in impressive fashion at Sale
It may have been a Sale maiden on a Sunday but Invincible Caviar, the hyped daughter of champion mare Black Caviar gave every indication bigger things are in store.
Having only her second start after a debut placing at Flemington Invincible Caviar controlled the 1113m maiden under Jamie Kah and went to the line untouched to win emphatically, albeit narrowly.
Sent out at $1.55 after opening at $1.45 Invincible Caviar had company in the lead throughout but Kah never seemed concerned as she dropped her rivals and then easily held off second favourite Xtra Gear ($7.50 into $6) to win by a long neck.
“She’s a nice filly, I’ve got a group of fillies like her and Gimmie Par and a few others at home that are in the same sort of group and have been working up nicely together so that gives you a nice feel that when you come to a maiden you should be running well,” trainer Peter Moody told Racing.com after the race.

Jamie Kah was full of praise for the filly: “She didn’t have an economical run, a few of the other horses pestering her early,” Kah said.
“I think she’s going to get better when she has one or two in front of her to follow, but she’s got a lot of improvement there.
“I could feel him (Jye McNeil on Xtra Gear) coming but she was never in doubt in my mind and I didn’t want to knock her around. There’s plenty more upside to her and she’s going to win some better races off that.
“She’s such a darling out there, she’s really well educated, a jockeys dream pretty much, I’m just excited to get the ride.
“She’s so raw, she’s doing everything so easily, she’s got a big beautiful stride on her and when she gets something to follow I think she’ll improve.”
Invincible Caviar is the third foal of Black Caviar to race and win with Oscietra and Prince of Caviar both winners in limited racing careers.
