Dalasan scratched from Spring Stakes after breaking loose
South Australian star Dalasan was a shock late scratching for Saturday’s Group 3 Spring Stakes after breaking loose and slipping over at Morphettville on Saturday.
Alarming footage shown on the Racing.com coverage showed the Leon Macdonald and Andrew Gluyas-trained talent had escaped staff and was bolting around the course.
The five-year-old stallion was thankfully captured before suffering serious injuries.
However, the Leon Macdonald and Andrew Gluyas-trained was removed from the Spring Stakes on vets advice after reportedly suffering several abrasions from the fall.

Dalasan, last seen finishing third in the Queen Elizabeth Stakes, was the third elect for the Spring Stakes which was set to be an enthralling three-way battle with fellow SA guns Behemoth and Beau Rossa.
He is being set for a tilt at the Group 1 Makybe Diva Stakes next month in Melbourne, where he is rated a $13 chance.
A date with the Leon Macdonald Stakes now shapes as one of the next opportunities for Dalasan to kick off his spring preparation in a fortnight at Morphettville.
Late Scratching – Morphettville 14/8/21 – Race 6 DALASAN on Vets advice at 12.50pm.
