Bob Peters’ champion mare Arcadia Queen to be sold at Magic Millions National Sale

Three-time Group 1 winning mare Arcadia Queen will be sold at Magic Millions later this month with owner Bob Peters confirming she will head to the broodmare sale on May 25.

The star galloper amassed almost $4 million in prizemoney while winning eight of her 16 starts which included the Caulfield and Mackinnon Stakes along with the Kingston Town Plate in Western Australia.

“Not much of her family has ever gone to auction and I’m not very popular with much of my family for the decision to sell her,” Peters said of the daughter of Pierro.

“There’s only one other horse I compare her to and that is Old Comrade who won four Group Ones before a tendon injury.

“She was a world class racehorse with huge ratings and really could have been anything.”

It comes after Peters sold fellow Group One-winning mare Celebrity Queen to Coolmore last week for $2.5 million.

Arcadia Queen is set to join the likes of Melody Belle, Sisstar and Mizzy in the sale.

“We are incredibly humbled to have the opportunity to present Arcadia Queen on behalf of Bob and Sandra Peters at the Gold Coast,” Magic Millions Managing Director Barry Bowditch said.

“Arcadia Queen performed at the highest level across her career and was easily one of the best of her generation anywhere.”

“She would be an absolute standout for any broodmare band in the world.”

The sale begins on May 25.
