Viktor Hovland's TINDER profile revealed to the delight of golf fans

Viktor Hovland’s TINDER profile is revealed to the delight of golf fans, with the Norwegian star calling himself ‘a simple boy’ while showing off his career trophies

  • In modest fashion, Hovland dubbed himself ‘a simple boy from Ekeberg’ on app
  • The 25-year-old will be solely focused on Ryder Cup glory in Rome this month
  • The nicest man in golf? Hovland turns up to CADDY for his old college roomie

An eagle-eyed fan on Tinder has unearthed the profile of golf star Viktor Hovland on the popular dating app.

The 25-year-old has been on a tear in 2023, scooping the Memorial Tournament in June, the BMW Championship in August, and winning the Tour Championship just a week later.

Hovland also became the third-youngest player to win the FedEx Cup at the end of the month, but despite his successes on the green, the Norwegian’s presence on the app suggests that there may yet be some areas of his personal life in need of improvement.

In a video shared to X (formerly Twitter), a fan captured the carousel of photographs Hovland selected for his profile, which include notable wins as well as off-duty snaps.

One picture shows the decorated starlet posing with the Dubai Desert Classic trophy, which he won in January 2022 and cemented his rise to World No 3, his highest-ever ranking.

Hovland has enjoyed a blistering 2023, winning the Tour Championship at the end of August

Another sees Hovland hoisting the BMW International trophy aloft, following his 2021 history-making victory which saw him become the first Norwegian player to win on the European Tour.

Hovland also includes a brief, notably understated description – in Norwegian – calling himself ‘a simple boy from Ekeberg’, and the verified blue tick that suggests the profile isn’t an imposter chancing their arm.

The choice of photographs could suggest that updating his profile hasn’t been at the fore of the player’s mind, with none reflecting his impressive 2023 season.

But fans were delighted by the relatable revelation nonetheless – although one detail on the profile did give some commenters pause.

‘He’s shorter than 5ft 10!’ one claimed, whilst another added: ‘He’s never 5ft 10!’

But the general consensus on the profile was one of respect, although one fan was quick to add their lighthearted tongue-in-cheek response.

‘Good looking and rich. Must struggle for matches,’ the poster teased.

Hovland will spend the month preparing to play for Team Europe in the Ryder Cup in Rome

Hovland will have little time to peruse dating app as he prepares for this month’s Ryder Cup, having automatically qualified alongside Rory McIlroy, Jon Rahm, Tyrrell Hatton, Matt Fitzpatrick, and Robert MacIntyre for Team Europe.

Despite looking to regain the Cup on home soil, fortunes for Team Europe aren’t entirely favourable in Rome in spite of the strength of Luke Donald’s stars Rahm, Hovland, and McIlroy.

Captain Donald acknowledged that Team USA were the ‘favourites’ in his media duties on Tuesday, adding: ‘the last Ryder Cup was not close and they have a lot of those guys coming back.

‘We are underdogs but I have full faith in my team.’
