Team Europe golfer Emily Pedersen will take on her boyfriend in today’s Solheim Cup final day, as he caddies for her American singles opponent Danielle Kang.
Pederson’s partner, Oliver Brett will be on the bag for Team USA player Kang but will no doubt have split allegiances after he and his American colleague were drawn to play against Brett’s girlfriend in Monday’s singles.
Brett has been caddieing for Kang since 2017, and has been on the bag for her last four LPGA Tour wins, and the 2019 Solheim Cup. However, the experienced caddie will no doubt find himself in unprecedented circumstances in today’s final round of the 2021 event by taking on his long-term partner.
The Englishman holds a wealth of experience across the LPGA, having caddied for over 11 years. As well as working on the bag for the American, Brett has also worked alongside his partner, Pederson previously and LPGA professionals Mel Reid and Sandra Gal.
European Pederson has enjoyed a bright start in her opening two Solheim Cup days, earning two points alongside partner Charley Hull, after earning a point against Lexi Thompson and Brittany Altomare on day one, and another against Kang and Austin Ernst on day two.

Following Sunday’s penultimate day of play, Europe currently hold a 9-7 lead going into Monday’s final round of singles.
Today’s final day of matches sees all 24 contenders take to the Inverness Club course, with 12 singles matches taking place, as Thompson of the USA and Anna Nordqvist of team Europe kick things off at 5:05pm BST.
Pedersen’s and Kang’s eagerly awaited pairing will be the final game out in Ohio this evening, as the duo head out in game number 12 at 6:55pm BST.
The European’s are looking to secure only their second ever Solheim Cup on American soil this evening, and need just five points to retain the title. The USA however will be looking to stop that, and will need 7.5 points for Monday’s singles to ensure the trophy doesn’t head back to European shores.
