The start of play in the 105th US PGA Championship has been delayed due to frost at Oak Hill Country Club.
The tournament – due to start at 12pm BST – has been temporarily put on hold after cold overnight conditions left frost on the gross, with play unable to begin.
The Championship is scheduled to run from Thursday May 18 to Sunday May 21, with reigning champions Justin Thomas among the early starters on the course on Thursday.
The two-time winner will play alongside Rory McIlroy – ranked third in the PGA tour but looking to end his majors drought – and 2021 Open winner Colin Morikawa.
Organisers released a statement early on Thursday morning which read: ‘Due to frost, all Oak Hill Country Club practice facilities and the golf course are currently closed.
