The BBL’s ‘most outrageous’ cricket shot
Perth Scorchers wicketkeeper Josh Inglis has seemingly invented a new cricket shot during Saturday evening’s Big Bash League finals match against the Sydney Sixers on Saturday evening.
During the Scorchers Power Surge, Sixers paceman Ben Dwarshuis fired in a full delivery wide of the off stump at Inglis, which the right-hander initially looked to ramp it down towards fine leg.

Inglis made a late adjustment, opening the face and angling his bat towards the third man boundary.
But the white pill instead struck the back of Inglis’ bat and flew past the Sixers wicketkeeper for an unorthodox boundary.

As Inglis offered his teammate a sheepish smirk, Fox Cricket commentator Mark Howard struggled to put into words what had taken place.
“That is the most outrageous shot of Big Bash 10,” Howard said.
“I can’t even describe what he hit there.”
Australian great Ricky Ponting said on Channel 7: “Remarkable he got it down there.”
Former Australian bowler Damien Fleming replied: “It is a tough game for the bowlers.”
Inglis topscored for the Scorchers with an unbeaten 69 off 41 deliveries, his classy knock featuring five boundaries and two sixes.
The 25-year-old guided the visitors to 6/167 in Saturday’s must-win clash, the victor of which will host next weekend’s Grand Final.
Seriously good player Josh Inglis #BBL10
JInglis continues to impress in this company…
Earlier, Scorchers all-rounder Mitchell Marsh was given out caught down the leg side for two and fumed at the call.
Marsh screamed “F***”, which unfortunately came through clearly on the stump mic before growling something at the celebrating Sixers.
Although it was clean work from Josh Philippe behind the stumps, replays showed the balls had missed the bat by a long way.
