Pies’ billionaire vice-president announces immediate resignation
Collingwood vice-president Alex Waislitz has announced his immediate resignation from the board, with the billionaire businessman replaced by Paul Licuria and Jodie Sizer.
Waislitz becomes the second club director to leave the club in the last three months, with former president Eddie McGuire resigning in February.

Waislitz worked with McGuire for the duration of the latter’s 22-year term, being elected to the board in 1998, and had flagged his intention to step down by the end of 2021.
Paul Licuria and Jodie Sizer were appointed the vice-presidents on Tuesday night, while medical practitioner and former national sportswoman Dr Bridie O’Donnell was appointed to the board of directors.

“It’s been an honour to have served the club for more than two decades and I’m pleased to be leaving the board at time when we are in strong financial position,” Waislitz said.
“Collingwood is now in a period of renewal and it’s appropriate that I make way for that process to continue. I wish Mark and the team continued success and I am happy to assist in any way I can.”
In its press release, the club pointed out six of its seven directors have been on the board for five years or less and that the recent changes mean that “progressive change and renewal at board level” is continuing.
Licuria was a two-time best and fairest winner for the Pies during his 182-game stint there.
Sizer is the first Indigenous member of Collingwood’s board and the co-CEO of PWC Indigenous Consulting.
