Marnus Labuschagne record CHANGE
Marnus Labuschagne has broken a record for Glamorgan in his first match since emerging from isolation.
The 27-year-old was in sensational form as he racked up an astonishing 276 off 268 balls for Glamorgan’s 2nd XI against Northamptonshire, which included a whopping 32 fours and four sixes.
Labuschagne’s effort eclipsed the previous record for Glamorgan’s second outfit, which was held by Ian Thomas who hit 267 in 2003.
The Australian batsman was forced into ten days isolation along with Queensland teammate Michael Neser after they were deemed to be a close contact of Glamorgan’s Nick Selman, who tested positive for Covid.
Labuschagne was unable to turn out for Glamorgan’s County Championship side as his isolation period did not expire in time.

Labuschagne will feature in one more County Championship clash for Glamorgan against Northamptonshire along with the remaining games of his county side’s T20 Blast season before jetting back home to Australia in order to spend time with family ahead of the Australian cricket season.
He was left out from the Australian squad touring the West Indies and Bangladesh, largely because of the difficulties presented with the pandemic and finding suitable travel arrangements for the him.

“We worked through numerous options in conversations with Marnus to find a workable solution but ultimately came to the conclusion it was more practical for him to remain in the UK,” chief selector Trevor Hohns said at the time.
“Had we not been in the middle of a global pandemic Marnus would be on this tour.”
Labuschagne remains Glamorgan’s leading run-scorer in the T20 Blast, with an average of 58.80 along with seven wickets next to his name.
