Jos Buttler names three England prospects that have "really impressed" him
England star Jos Buttler has pinpointed three young batters that he believes have "a really exciting future".
Buttler has been particularly impressed with Yorkshire's Harry Brook, who was named PCA Young Player of the Year after an outstanding breakout season.
Brook smashed 486 runs at an average of 69.42 in the T20 Blast and 189 runs at an average of 47.25 in The Hundred.
He also made 797 runs in the County Championship, with former England opener Adam Lyth the only Yorkshire player to score more.
Brook has also been tipped for the top by the likes of Kevin Pietersen and Ben Stokes and he can now add Buttler to his evergrowing list of admirers.
When asked which young players have impressed him the most, Buttler replied: "There's quite a few out there. I really like the look of Harry Brook, I thought he had a really fantastic T20 Blast and The Hundred.
"I watched quite a few games and I like the way he played and I like the options he had. I think he looks like someone with a really exciting future.
"He's a Yorkshireman so you hear from Rooty and Jonny [Bairstow] that he's a pretty talented guy, so I think he's certainly one to watch."
Buttler was also impressed by Phil Salt and Joe Clarke during The Hundred, with the pair playing alongside him at the Manchester Originals.
Salt made his England debut earlier this year during the ODI series against Pakistan, becoming one of five debutants after the original squad was forced into isolation after a covid outbreak.
Salt scored 104 runs at an average of 34.66 in that series, making an impressive 60 in the second ODI.
Clarke, meanwhile, is widely considered one of the best uncapped players in England.
"At the Manchester Originals, seeing Phil Salt and Joe Clarke up close, I was really impressed with the way they went," Buttler added while speaking at an event at Sixes Cricket Club, where he was unveiled as the official ambassador of Booking.com 's sponsorship of the ICC T20 World Cup.
"I certainly think there's some exciting players that will be pushing for further honours soon."
Booking.com is the official accommodation booking partner of the ICC T20 World Cup, which takes place from 17 October – 14 November.
