Australia v Pakistan first Test LIVE updates: Day four

What Australia need to do to win
Though improbable, I would not put the line through Australia winning this game.
Firstly, they need to bat as well as they did yesterday to get past Pakistan’s 476 and post a decent enough lead to give themselves enough runs on the fifth day to avoid having to bat again. I reckon they would need a lead of 150, so an overall total of about 625.
They then need the pitch to misbehave and have enough time to take 10 wickets. It would take a monumental collapse by Pakistan. It’s unlikely, but you need to have an imagination at times like these.
Inspection time
There will be an inspection at 1030 (1630 AEDT), so if things go well we might have play around 5-6pm AEDT.
Fingers crossed we do not lose too much play as today is what is known as “moving day” for Tests played in Asia.
Australia are 2/271, 205 runs behind Pakistan’s declared first innings total of 4/476. If they bat well today they should be ahead by stumps.
