Just which Aussie paceman will miss out?

Confusion reigns about the make-up of Australia’s team on the morning for the first Test at Edgbaston after Mitchell Marsh marked out his run-up on the ground ahead of warm-ups. Josh Hazlewood later walked out and did the same, however Mitchell Starc did not and appears to have missed out in the only change from the team which won the World Test Championship final against India last Sunday. Captain Pat Cummins, seamer Scott Boland, allrounder Cameron Green and spinner Nathan Lyon all marked out their run-ups. Teams will be confirmed at the toss half an hour before play begins at 11am local time (8pm AEST).

Good evening to you all

Thanks for joining us for day one of the opening Test of the 2023 Ashes at Edgbaston, the most eagerly awaited Test series of 2023 by a comfortable margin. Australia romped to a 4-0 win in the most recent Ashes series in 2021/22 at home – so England have a heap of ground to make up – but as history shows they are much more formidable opposition on home soil. We look forward to being with you for every ball.
