AFL fans slam snoozefest between Fremantle and Gold Coast
AFL fans were treated to an absolute snoozefest between Gold Coast and Fremantle on Saturday afternoon.
It was an extremely scrappy affair between the two struggling sides at Optus Stadium in Perth.

The Dockers led by eight points at half time 3.4 (22) to the Suns’ 1.8 (14)
The standard of general play and goal kicking were woeful in the first half, with both teams combining for 12 behinds and just six majors.

Fans have long called for games to be stand-alone to avoid missing any action.
But with only seven games scheduled this weekend for the second of the bye rounds, supporters were left wishing there was another game to watch instead of the shocking display between the Dockers and the Suns.

Thankfully, the game opened up and the goal kicking accuracy improved. Fremantle kicking six to Gold Coast’s four in the third quarter.
Gold Coast’s young gun Matt Rowell had an underwhelming return to footy in his first outing since injuring his knee in Round 1.

The midfield bull took a little while to get back in the swing of things.
Just moments before the first bounce, Rowell had to check the starting positions on the Suns’ whiteboard to see if he starting on the ground or on the bench.

Bizarrely, he was told to start the game in the forward line.
Rowell only had five disposals in the first half and was barely sighted.
