Tyson Fury’s wife Paris shares first pic of daughter Athena after intensive care

The newborn daughter of heavyweight boxing champion Tyson Fury has been pictured for the first time after coming off a ventilator.

WBC heavyweight world champion Fury and wife Paris welcomed their sixth child Athena into the world on Sunday.

She was immediately moved to ICU and placed on a ventilator with the boxer asking people to pray for the newborn.

The 32-year-old shared a video of himself cradling Athena on Monday as he revealed she was off the ventilator, telling followers: "Hi guys, the baby's doing fantastic, a lot, lot better. She's off the ventilator, she's doing really good, look, she's lovely."

And now wife Paris has shared the first picture of the couple's newborn daughter as her condition continues to improve.

She wrote on Instagram: "Thank God she's doing well. And thank you for all your messages, thoughts and prayers."

Heavyweight champion Fury had raced back to the UK from his fight camp in the United States to be at the birth of his sixth child.

Strict coronavirus guidelines meant he had to self-isolate before accompanying his wife.

Fury also revealed he's set up a GoFundMe page for donations to the Alder Hey Family House Trust as a thank you caring for Athena.

The Gypsy King offered anyone who donates the chance to win two signed WBC belts.

As of Tuesday morning, kind-hearted donators had raised £26,922.

It means the page is over half-way towards its £50,000 target.

One generous donor contributed £10,000 alone.

Newborn Athena is Fury and wife Paris' third daughter – following Venezuela, 11, and Valencia Amber three.

The couple also have three boys -Prince Tyson II, four, Prince John James, eight, Prince Adonis Amaziah, who is one.

Fury himself is due back in the ring in October when he will take on Deontay Wilder for the third time.
