Tyson Fury’s voice wildly changed after being "punched in the throat"
Tyson Fury’s voice wildly changed after he was “punched in the throat” six years ago.
The Gypsy King has a very distinct voice but he claims that it was not always like that – in fact, it is was down to being hit in his voicebox in 2015 which changed it.
Footage of an interview with the boxer in a Carl Froch vs Jean Pascal undercard shows that his voice is far different than what it is today.
And the Manchester-born fighter claims this is down to being hit during a sparring session.
During an interview with BBC Radio 1 last year he said: "I got punched in the throat in 2015 and it left me with a blood clot in the throat. So it causes me to talk like this. I was supposed to have it removed and I got too afraid.
"I think it sounds better anyway, there's more pain in it."
‘I’ve been to the hospital I’ve had the camera down me old throat and I’ve got a blood clot in the back of the throat, not a serious one that can harm me because it can only go down into the stomach sooner or later.
‘I’m not in any rush – it’s not causing me any pain, the sexy voice will not last forever.’
The incident in question was during a sparring session with light heavyweight boxer Ty Mitchell back in 2015, according to Sportbible.
The 33-year-old has just come off the back of a tremendous win over Deontay Wilder.
Fury delivered a breathtaking 11th-round knockout and retained his WBC heavyweight crown at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

After the win, Fury went on to claim that he is the best to ever box in “his era”.
He said via The Guardian: “I can only beat whoever’s in my era and I’ve done that all my life,” Fury said.
“I can only be the best of my day and I’ve done that. I’m the greatest heavyweight of my era, without a doubt.”
The heavyweight fighter's record now stands at 31 wins from 32 fights, with a single draw.
