Eddie Hearn stunningly revealed Tyson Fury is set to face Andy Ruiz after talks broke down with Oleksandr Usyk.
WBC heavyweight boxing champion Fury was expected to take on either British rival Anthony Joshua or IBF, WBA and WBO champion Oleksandr Usyk in his highly-anticipated next fight.
But Hearn, who is not Fury’s promoter, told Boxing King Media on Friday that the Gypsy King will instead face Mexican-American Ruiz on July 22nd.

Fans have been crying out for a unification bout between Fury and Usyk, who defeated Joshua twice on his way to becoming a two-weight class champion. A first undisputed heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis in 1999 made for a tantalising prospect.
The two fighters’ camps went back and forth for months over a potential meeting, with a bout planned for April 29. But talks fell through as they failed to agree on clauses relating to a potential rematch, leaving the boxing world frustrated.

Fury’s last fight came in December with a win over Derek Chisora. The Brit had followed up his victory by calling out Usyk, before the pair squared up to each other inside the ring.
But Hearn’s revelation has now dashed hopes of the two undefeated titans meeting in the summer. And with Tyson previously teasing a “monstrous” fight in the near future, boxing fans took to Twitter to vent their fury.
One Twitter user wrote: “DONE DEAL! The fight no one wanted. Tyson Fury vs Andy Ruiz.”
Another tweeted: “I like both fighters a lot , but this fight doesn’t turn me on at all.”
A third added: “Yawn. yawn,” while a fourth commented: “We will not be there.”
Yet Fury and Usyk could still be on track for their huge showdown. A third career defeat for Ruiz could land Fury in an even more favourable position when fight negotiations with Usyk re-emerge ahead of a speculated clash in Saudi Arabia for December.
